San Francisco mayor Newsom proposes new program to urge universal health care

In San Francisco, California, some would say the liberals have gone crazy. But is it really such a bad idea to provide some level of health care to the uninsured who don't qualify for state and federal programs?

For San Francisco health officials, the answer is pursuaded by the high rate of homeless and indiginant in the bay area.

This is a highly transient area that calls for a basic disease prevention program designed to prevent the spread of common and easily prevented disease such as TB and other bacterial outbreaks.

For those who don't have coverage, the best choice for immediate affordable care may be to have a good supplemental health benefit.
